Get Strong In Christ- Knowing You’re Purpose

Get Strong In Christ- Knowing You’re Purpose

Let’s Give God Some Praise!

How many times have we asked the question what is the purpose, what is my mission, what is it that God has for me to do? This is not an uncommon thing to wonder about. In fact it is the one thing that you should be certain about when it comes to your walk with Christ. Your purpose.

One of the main things wrong with our quest to learn this information is that we over think it and then we get confused with the purpose because we get caught in the desire of what we want to do.

You see your purpose is not your gift, your gift is what is giving to you as an extra bonus from the Lord. This lack of understanding is the major problem of stagnation in the body of Christ.

People get caught up in wanting to fulfill their gifts instead of fulfilling their purpose.

You see your purpose is not complicated!

Matthew 28:19 (KJV)
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:

We have repeated this verses now in just about each message this year. After while one would have to begin to wonder why is this one particular verse repeated in each message. The reason being is that this one particular verse vividly describes what your direct purpose is in God.

Because we tend to want to do so much more and get involved with so many other things we over look and fail to understand that our one sole purpose stems from this one verse. The charge that Christ gave to each of us that are called his disciples. And rather you understand this or not, when you are called by Christ you are called to his discipleship

Let me speak on that word called by Christ, saints get caught up on thinking that the evangelist, minister, pastors and so on are the ones called. No these are the gifts that they have been given. And yes they were called to that particular gift but before that gift existed in them they still had the same purpose and after they received their gift they still have the same purpose.

Ephesians 1:4 (KJV)
4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

John 15:16 (KJV)
16  Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.

Jeremiah 1:5 (KJV)
5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.

God had a plan for you before you even knew who you were. You have got to see God. He says before I formed thee in the womb I had already called you do a great work for me, he had already decided that you had a significant part to play in this role of life. You have got to begin to understand that you are here for a reason and that reason is not for self-gratification but for servitude unto God.

You see once we can get past that understanding, we can begin to realize what intended for us to be doing, we can step into our purpose with an eagerness and desire to do that which God has called us to do.

Your purpose or your job, which way you understand is to share the love of Christ with others

The way we all accomplish this task varies from one to another. Because we all are uniquely different our methods and our tools will be used differently by each of us. But we all have the same purpose, we all have the same set of instructions, we all have the same obligations, we all have the same set of rules and guidelines and we all have the same requirements for fulfilling our purpose in God.

Can somebody please say Amen!

I need to emphasize this, your gift is your gift. It is an added bonus giving to you through the Holy Spirit. I want you to think about this on your job how you labor and then sometimes your employer throws in a bonus check or gives you some extra items to help your job along the way. This does not change what your assigned job duties are it just changes the method in which you do it.

Well you see we serve a God that upgrades us when he gives us gifts, but our purpose even with the gift is still the same. You see this is where people get lost and loss their way, they get so involved with their gift that their gift over shadows their purpose and they lose their way.

You see you need to get your purpose locked in mentally so you do not lose your way, once God begins to develop your gifts.

So in case you have not caught on yet and you are wondering just what is my purpose?

John 13:15 (KJV)
15 For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you.

1 Peter 2:21 (KJV)
21 For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Ephesians 5:2 (KJV)
2  And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.

Our purpose is to walk this earth and live on it in a manner just as Christ has done and in doing this we become examples of the life that Christ gave unto us. When we do this correctly we are able to draw others unto Christ.

Everyone shares Christ within them differently, but the constant in all of our purposes that we project and show the love of Christ in us, we love one another, we do not hate our brothers or sister regardless of what life they live. They can be lost in this world but our job is to still represent the character and love of Christ.

We don’t have to talk about them and condemn their lives, we just need to continue to show the love of Christ to them, treat them with kindness, remembering to share a word about the grace of God, remembering to tell someone why you are different, why you view the world in the manner in which you do, why you look to another source not common to the unbeliever.

Matthew 5:13-16 (KJV)

You need to let somebody know that the light that shines in you comes from a source that will never lose its flame or energy and that when it grows weary or when it grows weak it knows that there is a filling location that is so close that it would scare the average person.

But I need to tell somebody, you got to maintain who you are in Christ Jesus 24/7, you do not get to change the rules, and you do not get to say today I do not want to fulfill my purpose in God.

I need to tell somebody, when you are not fulfilling the purpose of God then you are fulfilling the purpose of the enemy and when you are working for the enemy then you get treated as an enemy.

You have got to get on the right track and represent who you are. You can’t be about God today and the devil tomorrow without reaping consequences of your actions. Make it your business to fulfill your purpose in God so he can fulfill his purpose in you.

Amen!!!!
