Be ye seperate

Preacher:
Passage: 1 Corinthians 5:9, 1 Corinthians 15:33-34

BE YE SEPERATE

Let’s Give God some Praise!

Last week we spoke about change is inevitable, if you are persistent with God, then no matter who you are or what you are going through, God will eventually break through. And I have to tell you, once he breaks through, that change will happen and your life will never be the same.

The reason why a lot of us have a hard time changing is because of the company we keep, the people that are around us daily, in our jobs, our homes, our schools, our face books and our twitters. These people some of them mean us no harm and or not attempting to hinder us from God. It is not intentional it is just who they are. They are not trying to pull us to left with them nor or they trying to get us to be like them. They are just being themselves living in their world, doing the things that are pleasing unto their flesh. The issue is not with them.  They are completely comfortable being them.

So the question is: Why are they such a big part of your life & why does their life influence yours so much?

The people of the world are all around us, there is nothing that we can do about it nor change it. For whatever reason people are attracted to things that are completely different than them. There is the old saying that opposites attracts.

But just because we have been attracted to the opposite, it does not mean that we have to behave nor conform to the ways of the opposite. Amen

Once again the Word of God is precise with its instruction.

1 Cor 5:9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 1 Cor 15:33-34 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners. Awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God:

I said earlier we find ourselves around people and in the company of people who have no knowledge of God. It does not mean that they do not know God exist, nor have been taught about God. It means that they don’t know God nor desire to serve God.

The Christian church must be purged of the contamination of sinners, and separated from pagan influences

1 Cor 5:7

This passage is telling us to purge out, meaning get rid of, the old leaven which is the sinful dealings of others. We have enough issue dealing with our own battles of staying in tune with Christ, let alone having to deal with somebody else running amuck in life.

There has to come a point when you recognize that the people of the world that are not of God, cannot do you any good in God.

How are they going to direct you and instruct in the ways of God, when their life is about pleasing their flesh.

Verse 9 thru 11 says, really wants to get your attention, it is not just about the people of the world that no not god, but the people that are running around claiming to be Christians that are still doing the things of this world.

You see this is where the rubber meets the road. It is not just about those that you know are sinners but those that think they are not sinners.

If they are not walking this walk, and living this life, and trying their best to bring God into their lives and their households, then these are the ones that you must separate from.

And don’t get me wrong, I am not saying that anyone here needs to separate from one another, but if you personally know that there is one amongst you that is not trying to serve God, and their deeds and acts our corrupting others, then according to the Word of God in Ephesians 5:11it is your responsibility to expose them, so that they may be separated.

You see there will come a day, when you have a church full of people and some of them come for the wrong reason, well God’s says, be yea separate, put them away from you, do not eat with such a people, meaning do not fellowship.

You need to understand, that when these people get to shaking and faking about the God that you serve, you need to do some wakening and rejecting about the act they think they are getting away with.

You getting to that point where the line in the sand is going to have to be drawn, you are going to have to make a decision. Do you want to be friends with Bilal, or do you want to be a servant of the most high God. But I need to tell you that you can’t keep on being on both sides, you are going to have to choose one or another, because as long as you are on both sides, the Word of God in the book Proverbs 17 no good thing shall they have.

I am going to close and make this plan, when there is a family involved, you make it extremely hard for the family to prosper if both people are not equally yoked in God. It hard when one is calling out to God, bless us Lord, and the other is consorting and living the life of Bilal, that household cannot expect God to overlook the misdeeds and shower down blessings from above.

Psalms 106:35-36 But were mingled among the heathen, and learned their works.

2 Cor 6:14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? And what communion hath light with darkness?
