God’s Word
The foundation of the Way of the Cross was birth in South Central Los Angeles in the year of our Lord 1981. God spoke a word to Missionary Claudia Andrus telling her that it was time to open a church desirous of Holiness. The church Welcome Full Holiness was created across the street from South Park.
The stage was set to put God’s word in the middle of a pcp/crack infested community. Violence, killing, thefts, prostitution and drugs surrounded this house of God on every side, but the word of God went forth and countless sinners found there way to the Lord.
Declaration of Faith
We Believe:
- In the verbal inspiration of the Bible.
- In one God eternally existing in three persons; namely, the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
- That Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of the Father, conceived of the Holy Ghost, and born of the Virgin Mary. That Jesus was crucified, buried, and raised from the dead. That He ascended to heaven and is today at the right hand of the Father as the Intercessor.
- That all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that repentance is commanded of God for all and necessary for forgiveness of sins.
- That justification, regeneration, and the new birth are wrought by faith in the blood of Jesus Christ.
- In sanctification subsequent to the new birth, through faith in the blood of Christ; through the Word, and by the Holy Ghost.
- Holiness to be God’s standard of living for His people.
- In the baptism with the Holy Ghost subsequent to a clean heart.
- In speaking with other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance and that it is evidence of the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
- In water baptism by immersion, and all who repent should be baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
- Divine healing is provided for all in the atonement.
- In the Lord’s Supper and washing of the saints’ feet.
- In the premillennial second coming of Jesus. First, to resurrect the righteous dead and to catch away the living saints to Him in the air. Second, to reign on the earth a thousand years.
- In the spiritual resurrection; eternal life for the righteous, and eternal punishment for the wicked.
Vision Statement
Without vision the people perish
Our vision is to love and care for people as we preach Christ and serve all human beings. And to allow the Holy Spirit to convict people to get right with Jesus. We believe in all kinds of medical healing in Jesus name. We will focus on the need of the surrounding community and find ways to be a blessing as we faithfully and willingly share the hope of God’s salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord.
First and foremost we believe that the word of God that is delivered to the people must be consistent and in line with the Bible. Hebrews 13:8 The word of God is the same yesterday, today and forever. The teaching of the word of God even in today’s time cannot change or adjust because of the state of the world or the acceptance of the world’s view of life.
We believe in the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost and that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and he is the way, the truth and the life that leads to salvation. We strive with the help of God to lead a life of holiness in church and out of church and to have a membership that understands that it should be the goal of each member to strive for a life of holiness in Christ Jesus. 1 Peter 1:16 Because it is written, be ye holy; for I am holy.
We believe in maintaining a prayer lifestyle and a faithful soul winning outreach ministry. One that is willing to go into the community passing out materials, praying for those who request it or are in need of prayer while encouraging others to fellowship with the church. The outreach ministry will consist of establishing a food bank, a clothing bank, and a toy bank during the Christmas season.
We encourage all the members to stay in prayer, to encourage and lift one another up, to fellowship, to uphold and support the vision of The Way of the Cross.
