Founder’s Biography

We Believe:

Evangelist Claudia Andrus has been on the battlefield working for the Lord, preaching and teaching the Word of God since 1960. In 1980 in the city Los Angeles CA in the area known as South Park the Lord spoke to Evangelist Claudia Andrus and said it is time that you form a house of worship dedicated to me. Honor me in all that you do and upon this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

 

In 1981 Welcome Full Gospel Holiness Church was formed and pastored by Evangelist Claudia Andrus until 1986. In 1986 the Lord decided it was time to relocate the church and family to a new community in Perris California. Evangelist Claudia Andrus and her husband Elder Louie Andrus served the Lord faithfully. For the next five years the Lord began to move mountains and redirect the life and calling on Elder Louie Andrus. The Way of the Cross COGIC SWD was incorporated and Sergeant/Elder Louie Andrus was now Pastor Andrus. The church flourished for years and many lives and souls were changed in the Mead Valley area. Even though the Lord called Bishop Andrus home in 2010 his traditions, his teaching and the legacy of the church he formed still lives on today.

During the last ten years Evangelist Claudia Andrus has written 5 books ranging from poetry to her latest book, “Life on a Candlestick”. (Available at Barnes and Noble)She is currently the National Director of the Women’s Department for the United Church of the Living God, Pillar and Ground of the Truth, located in Los Angeles, California. The Lord has once again moved the location of the church and has planted The Way of the Cross Church of God in Christ in a new harvest ground. Evangelist Claudia Andrus continues her dedication to God and family.

Pastor David Green’s Biography

Without vision the people perish

Pastor David Green was first called to ministry when he was 12 years old. At that time his parents were attending West Angeles Church of God in Christ, located on Adams and 5th Ave, in Los Angeles California, Pastor by Elder Charles Blake.

Being a young teenager and traveling to various locations to speak was quite exciting for a while. Well as the male teenager got older his interest in life began to change. It was at some point in junior high when the young teenager found teenage girls his age a little more interesting then church.

It was not long after High School started he found a job working at Jack in the Box. His parents had separated and it seemed as though a new chapter in his life had begun that gradually pull him further and further away from his ministry calling.

In 1981 his mother started a church called Welcome Full Gospel in the heart of South Central Los Angeles, directly across the street from South Park. It was during this time that David realized that the ministry calling on his life had not gone away; and the true battle for his soul was only just beginning. It was much deeper than just understanding the difference between right and wrong and sin and heaven.

Unfortunately for David he made some wrong decisions and found himself receiving a 24 year prison commitment. It was in the year 2000 that the Lord began to call on David again, it was during this time that David completely surrender his life to the Lord.

David spent the next five years teaching and preaching in the prison system, he was assigned the duty of Chaplin clerk and conducted 3 to 4 services a week. the ministry within the prison system was on fire and plenty of men’s lives were changed and salvation as well as water baptism was done.

In 2005 Pastor David and his wife June began to minister in Perris California with his Dad and Mom, while residing in Littlerock CA. For those that do not know the area; this was approximately a 200 mile round trip each week. They were blessed to have the privilege of  picking up a van full of people from Lancaster and Palmdale each week to commute to Perris for service. 

In 2006 David and his wife relocated to Hesperia CA, while still attending service in Perris, around 2008 the duties of Pastoring the Perris church began to fall more and more on the shoulders of Pastor Green as the health of Bishop Andrus began to change. In 2010 the lord saw fit to call Bishop Louie Andrus home.

In 2015 the Lord lead Pastor David to start a home base ministry in Hesperia. In 2016 the Way of the Cross church in Victorville CA was started and the High Desert Restoration Ministry had begun.

The church body quickly outgrew the Victorville location and began looking for a new location. It was by the divine fate that the building in Apple Valley had been delivered to their doorstep. The Apple Valley location opened it’s doors in September of 2017.

In 2019 God has blessed the ministry to open another location in Hemet CA. The work is still plentiful and the laborers are still few but the word of God remains the same yesterday, today and tomorrow to come. May his grace and mercy continue to keep all of us humble in all that we do.
